Q&A.

Questions. Answered.

The questions brands ask us before they start. About the work, the money, the process. Answered straight, without the agency fog.

  1. What does SPARKD do?

SPARKD is a creative studio in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Some brands come to us stuck: nobody notices them, or the work they put out does not sell. Others come with a launch, a drop or a campaign they simply want to be great. Both start the same way. We do the thinking first, then we make the work: campaign films, photos, stills and content.

  2. Do we need a problem before we call you?

No. Plenty of projects start with ambition rather than a problem. A launch, a teaser, a product drop, a season of content, a campaign that has to land. If you know what you want to make, we make it and we make it good. If you only know the goal, we work out what it should be first.

  3. What kind of brands do you work with?

Premium brands that care how they look and are tired of blending in. In practice that ranges from consumer brands and tech companies to record labels and artists. We work with clients in the Netherlands and abroad, and we work in English and Dutch.

  4. What do you mean by a "world"?

A world is the look and the logic behind everything we make for a brand. Where it plays, what it looks like, what the rules are, who lives in it. We design that first, before we make a single asset. The point is that one world can carry ten campaigns, so everything you put out looks like it belongs together instead of like ten separate briefs.

  5. Do you do strategy, or only production?

Both, and in that order. We start with the problem and the thinking: who this is for, what it has to do, what story carries it. Production comes after. We do not take a brief and simply execute it, and we do not hand over a strategy deck and leave. The same studio does the thinking and makes the work.

  6. What does a project cost?

Every project gets a fixed price, agreed before anything starts. The number depends on scope: how many assets, how many formats, film or stills, one campaign or an ongoing partnership. Tell us what you want to make and we come back with a scope and a price.

  7. How long does a project take?

It depends on scope, and we agree the timeline in the intake before work begins. The process itself is six steps: intake, the world, the plan, the engine, the finish, delivery. You approve the direction before we produce anything, so the timeline holds.

  8. How many rounds of feedback do we get?

Three. The first comes at the plan stage, on the storyboard and the direction, and includes two revisions. The second and third come per asset, after you see the first full version. When you approve, we deliver the master files in every format you need.

  9. Can you work with our existing brand guidelines?

Yes. If you already have a brand book, colors and a tone of voice, the world we build sits inside it and extends it. If you do not have one, or it no longer fits what you are trying to do, we build the visual side from scratch.

  10. Do you work on retainer or per project?

Both. Some brands keep us on retainer and grow one world over years, with campaigns and ongoing content coming out of it. Others come for a single campaign, a launch or a drop, and need a world built fast. We build a dedicated engine for every brand and keep it running, so a second campaign always starts sharper than the first.

  11. Do you use AI to make the work?

Yes, and we are very good at it. Generative AI is one of the tools in the studio, alongside live action, photography and code. We build a dedicated production engine per brand, tuned to your colors, your faces and your look, so what comes out reads as you and not as generic AI output. But it is a tool, not the pitch. The strategy, the story and the direction decide what gets made. The technology only decides how fast and how consistently we can make it.

  12. Is the work original, or is anything stock?

Everything is made for you. Nothing is pulled off the internet, and no stock footage or stock imagery goes into the work. Even the storyboards are finished images rather than sketches, which is why what you approve is what you get.

  13. Who is behind SPARKD?

SPARKD was founded by Bryan Linke and runs from Maastricht. It is part of Linga Group BV, a Dutch holding company that also houses Linga Management, a boutique artist management arm. Creative direction and technical production sit in the same small team, which is why the thinking and the making do not get handed off between agencies.

  14. How do we start?

Send us the problem you are trying to solve, not a finished brief. We answer within 48 hours and set up one intake meeting. You leave that meeting with a scope and a timeline, and nothing starts before both are agreed.
